Celebrity Wines: Who Has Their Own?

Celebrities, they’re just like us.

Oh wait, no they’re not. They’re the lucky people who own their own vineyards and produce their own wine! I’m always super wary on celebrity endorsed products because I feel like they can lack attention to detail and quality. This isn’t always the case, but I find it to be more true when it comes to the booze.

However, if you’re willing to give some new celebrity affiliated wines a try, I’ve put together a list of some celebs and their wines! There are tons of other celebrities that have wines like Madonna and ACDC but condensed this list to give us a range of celebrities. I have not tried all of these, so I can speak to how they all taste, but if I found any reviews online, I listed them for you to make a judgement call.

Il Palagio, Italy

Sting and his wife make some pretty good wines. Best known for their “Sister Moon” blend but also offering up a rosado, Chianti and Bianco. Buzzfeed says the Sister Moon blend is a wine to be had with steak and definitely a wine to give to your dad for a gift. What dad wouldn’t love a manly steak wine from Sting?

Ferguson Crest, Santa Ynez Valley, California

Ferguson Crest was founded in 2006 by Fergie and her dad. They’re calling it a boutique vineyard with 6 acres. With no surprise here, Fergie’s wine is called “Fergalicious”, which is a red blend. I haven’t had it but others have said it is overwhelmingly sweet and wouldn’t pair well with any food. #harsh. On the flip side, this wine has won awards. Just goes to show everyone’s palette is different. They also offer a Viogner.

Barrymore Wines, California

Drew partnered with Carmel Road Wines to make a Rosé and a Pinot Gris. She also sells a Pinot Noir. Drew said she has been involved in every step of the wines production. I’ve had the rosé and it was decent. On the other hand, Buzzfeed said her Pinot Grigio was a “drink in case of an emergency” wine. #ouch. I still love you, Drew.

Blenheim Vineyards, Charlottesville, Virginia AND Dreaming Tree WinesCalifornia

Dave, Dave, Dave. I feel like everyone has gone through a Dave Matthews phase, right? Dave makes some pretty awesome wines. I’ve had them all and I honestly enjoy them all. He offers up a Pinot Noir, Red Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Chateau MiravalFrance

Brad and Angie might be the most famous couple on this list, but since their recent divorce, there have been rumors that Chateau Miraval might be up for sale. They are famous for their Rosé, which in my opinion is overpriced, but decent. They also bottle all their wines in the same shape bottle. Interesting.

Wayne Gretzky EstatesOkanagan, British Columbia

Hockey legend. Wine aficionado? Gretzky offers up a low priced ($18) Cabernet Sauvignon that Somms have dubbed the Coca-cola of wine. It tastes of candy and chocolate, definitely catered to those who have been brought up drinking soda. Doesn’t sound like it would please my palette but could be a great wine for those transition into reds!

Jeff Gordon Wine, Northern California

While they do not own their own vineyard, they harvest grapes from Napa and Sonoma to make their wine. Gordon’s Chardonnay is a classic California Chardonnay, oaky, buttery and bold. They also produce a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and a Joie de Vivre blend.

More From Chel Loves Wine

  1. So amazing! I know so little about wine. I am traveling to Italy next year and I feel like I really need to be in the know more.

  2. You can never go wrong with a glass of wine am I right ? Think I need to go on a search for Drew Barrymore’s Wine. She is just fabulous along with these many others. It’s always great to see people try other things.
