February Favorites

Shit I really liked in February.

I liked a variety of different things this month ranging from nail polish to music to wine. So let’s get right into it.

First up is nail polish from Essie’s New Spring 2016 Collection. My two favorite shades are “High Glass Affair” and “Lounge Lover”. These are PERFECT spring shades. They just scream “Hi, I’m over winter, give me sunshine and sangria plz.”

High Glass Affair | Lounge Lover

I made those amazing Sauvignon Blanc cupcakes last week and I really fell in love with the wine I used. I already enjoy Bogle Vinyard’s Merlot, but their sauv blanc is equally as good (and cheap!). Definitely a nice white to get back into spring time vibes.

Of course I watched the Grammy’s this past month and I must be the only person who didn’t know who Alabama Shakes was. Nonetheless I listed to them preform and they’re pretty kick ass. Their whole debut album “Sound + Color” is SO good. It gives me that 70’s-psychedelic-I-feel-like-I’m-on-drugs vibe.

My cousin got sent this wonderful package of products from Lather so naturally I used them too. Let me tell you how hard I fell for the Yuzu Sugar Cane Body Buff. This is a scrub like no other. The sugar is so fine that it easily exfoliates and leaves your skin SO SOFT. It’s on the more expensive side for a body scrub but you’re worth it.

This winter has been taking a toll on my skin (thank god it’s almost over). My skin is so dry and gets super patchy if I don’t have a solid moisturizer to use. My dermatologist recommended CeraVe to me in the beginning of winter and it has been a LIFE SAVER. This is super, super moisturizing and absorbs pretty quick. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with oily skin, but if you’re dry then this is for you. Bonus, this lotion has glycerin in it, which as we know from my previous post, means that it will help make your makeup really stick to your face all day so it’s great to apply in the morning.

There you have it! I wish I liked more stuff this month to share with you, but unless I really loved it I didn’t want to tell you about it. I know, I know, so nice of me. 😉

More From Chel Loves Wine

  1. That lounge lover color is really pretty. I just commented on your wines post, but I cannot drink white wine. I just do not like it. I love red wine, but I sometimes wish I could find a white I like so I can drink it outside in the summer on hot days.

    1. I have been the same way for a long time but I fell in love with this super cheap Riesling and it’s opened my heart to white wine. Its called Blufeld Riesling. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
