Green Drink

I promise this doesn’t taste like dirt.

Green drinks get a bad rap for their taste. Dirt is not a desirable flavor I personally look for in my food. However, the health benefits are out of this world. Green vegetables contain vitamin B6, dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, vitamin E, vitamin B2, iron, magnesium, vitamin B1, folic acid, the list keeps going. Basically they’re really good for you and when you’re drinking all the time you have to balance out the bad with the good.

Here is a recipe that I use to make a green drink that has a better taste profile thanks to the addition of some fruits. I usually drink this for breakfast but it can be enjoyed anytime throughout the day. This particular smoothie is loaded with vitamin C which is great during these cold winter months. High five for a strong immune system.


1/2 cup kale
1/2 cup spinach
1/2 cup of frozen papaya
1/2 green apple
1/2 banana
2 cups of ice


Throw all the ingredients in a blender (I prefer a NutriBullet) and mix until combined. Enjoy your dirt free tasting green drink!
