So you’re hungover at work.
It happens sometimes and with yesterday being Easter perhaps you enjoyed one too many of these cocktails and now you may be feeling a little hungover. I’ve been hungover at work only a hand full of times (how many is a hand full again?) but I learned some tips and tricks to take you from 0 to 100, real quick.
Lets start with the night before. It’s Thirsty Thursday and you realize it’s 1:00am, you’re wasted and have a 9:00am meeting the next day. You get yourself an uber and head home.
Tip #1 – Hydration nation. Some of my friends swear by Pedialyte, others swear by Gatorade. I’m personally a big fan of coconut water. Pick your poison, just make sure you drink a lot of it. Advil will also help here too (please don’t take anything acetaminophen based while drinking – thanks nurse Gina for that info).
So your alarm clock goes off, you feel like death, eyes can barley be open. You manage to shower and get dressed, drink some more coconut water, pop some Advil and out the door.
Tip #2 – Breakfast. There is not any scientific research behind why that greasy BEC (bacon, egg and cheese for you non-New Yorkers) makes you feel A+, but it does. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
Tip #3 – Vitamin B-12 is known to work wonders on hangovers and bananas are full of it. Try getting a banana in a smoothie if you can’t handle eating one. You can also just opt for a B12 liquid shot.
Tip #4 – A lot of people say to stay away from caffeine when you’re hungover but I find that coffee gets my mind back on track and can make the day some what manageable.
Last tip – if none of these other things work, you can always just fake a migraine and go home (not that I’ve ever pulled that one..).
