Sauvignon Blanc Cupcakes

Not sure what could be better than wine and cupcakes.

Wine and cupcakes, cupcakes and wine. It sounds like I might just be in heaven. Well since we’re obviously not let’s make some wine infused cupcakes so we can pretend.

These are pretty easy to make. I like to cheat and use box cake and frosting mix because lets be honest 1/2 cup of wine goes in the cupcakes and the other 3 cups go in your belly so we need to make this as easy as possible.

Ingredients

Cake
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Sauvignon Blanc
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel

Frosting
1 package of Pillsbury Purely Simple Buttercream Frosting Mix
1 stick of butter, softened
1/4 cup Sauvignon Blanc
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients for the cake together either by hand or with a mixer. Mix together for 2 minutes.

Put cupcake liners into pan and fill 2/3 of the way up.

Pop them into the oven for 13-15 minutes or until you insert a toothpick into the middle of the cake and it comes out clean

Let them cool completely.

To make the frosting: mix the Pillsbury Purely Simple Buttercream Frosting Mix and butter together until combined.

Then add the wine and lemon peel. Mix together on high until frosting forms soft peaks.

Once your cakes are cooled, frost them and enjoy! They’re so freaking good.

PSA: Please be safe and don’t eat these cupcakes and drive.
