WINE FACE MASK!

We all know how good wine is for us.

If you don’t, then you can check out last weeks post which explains why we all should be drinking a glass of wine a day.

Naturally, Chel Loves Wine would think of a way to take the health benefits to the next level by making three different face masks that incorporate red wine. All of these masks are super simple to make and most of the ingredients you should already have, except maybe the seaweed powder but you can get that at any health food store.

You can use any red wine you would like, BUT you can’t use red wine that has been exposed to oxygen for too long. This causes the wine to oxidate and it loses some of it’s health benefits. Fresher the better in this case. So pour yourself a glass while you make these for best results.

THIS WINE IS EGG-CELENT

1 egg white
1 tbsp honey
3 tbsp of red wine

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until you get a smooth consistency. Apply to face with fingertips and allow to set for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry.

HONEY, STOP WINE-ING

1 cup plain greek yogurt
1 tbsp of honey
4 tbsp of red wine

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Liberally apply to face with fingertips and allow to set for 8-10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry.

ALOE! I’D LOVE SOME WINE

2 tbsp of red wine
1/2 tbsp of aloe vera gel
1 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of seaweed powder (I use 100% pure Irish Seaweed powder)

Warm up the honey until it becomes runny by putting it in the microwave for a few seconds. Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl until you have a nice and smooth paste. Leave it to rest for 10 minutes so the seaweed can absorb the moisture. Apply to face with fingertips for 10 mins. Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry.

  1. Haha- who knew? Wine is definitely a necessity in life 😉 There is a sweet mom at swim lessons every week that gives herself a (bright pink) facial and hand wax during lessons. I’ll have to tell her about this for sure. Maybe she will share the wine while she cleanses?? Would love for you to come link up with 100 Happy Days!

    1. She sounds like my kind of mom! Shoot me an email about your 100 happy days, I’d love to hear more! Thanks for the comment, Kate!
